Toronto’s Rags n' Bones formed in 2017, after drummer Kyrie Wilmot and guitarist John Keffer met vocalist Kasia “Kosh” Bulgarski at a mutual friend’s BBQ. The three started jamming a few weeks later and the original songs began flowing. In early 2018, bassist John Dehaas joined as the band continued writing music, with compositions organically springing to life from their ad-lib jam sessions. Rags n' Bones' sound has been described as soulful, psychedelic, blues-rock. The band’s influences are varied, and include notable artists such as Erykah Badu, Amy Winehouse, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Charles Bradley, Etta James, Jack White and the Black Keys. Throughout 2018, Rags n' Bones released a number of songs and videos to the web, recorded live, off the floor, in their rehearsal spaces. In 2019, the band has played several shows in the Toronto area and has been hard at work, recording their debut album, which is due out in the summer of 2020.
